All I can say is thank goodness for USPS carrier pickup! I would hate to have to drag all of this stuff to the post office when I ship. I can't believe I used to do that, go to the post office four or more times per week! What a bummer!
This nice stack kept me busy into the wee hours last night and then a few again this morning. I do love it when everyone pays so quickly and I can get it all done like this! It makes everything so much easier!
Boy, I sure didn't get much sleep again last night. I went to bed at almost 3:00 a.m. (yes, that's almost my usual time I hate to admit it), but then I didn't sleep until after four and then I got up at 9:15. I feel like I'm running a few hours short today. That is okay though, today I will be sitting in the salon chair for two or more hours so that will be very relaxing. Being pampered is always good, it just comes too few and far between for me!
It is another nice sunny day today and it will probably be in the high 60's again! I am loving spring! Saturday is driving day, all the way to Missoula Montana, to pick up Mom. I am looking forward to getting out of this city! I love Salt Lake, but sometimes the traffic and concrete just gets to me and I feel the need to get out...even if it's only for a couple of days and most of it is just driving. Seeing some countryside will do me a world of good! It will be nice to see my brother again too and my sis-in-law. That is the only thing I hate about living in the U.S. and them being back "home" in Canada. We don't get to see each other much anymore! Oh well, make the best of it! You all have a great day! Bye for now ~ Stacy

This cement wicker basket was one of the things I purchased. It has two sweet little cherubs perched on either side. This basket is actually quite huge ~ about three feet or more across and about two and a half feet high. It is very heavy and hard to pick up! I fill it with petunia's and other annuals and it looks gorgeous!
Here are two more ~ a cherub peeking out from the iris' and another bust type of head that looks like it's covered in moss. The last one is actually a newer piece. I love statues ~ they add so much to your garden decor! I can't wait for the plants and especially the roses to start doing their thing!
Tomorrow is hair day! Yeah! I am going to the salon to get my "spring highlights". I get highlights about twice a year and springtime is my favorite time to get spruced up and updated for the new season. Going lighter always makes me feel better ~ feels like I'm leaving drab old winter behind!
I should be listing some things on the web site tomorrow. This week is kind of busy getting ready for Mom's visit so web site listings have been abit sporadic! Once she is here things will get back on track and we will BOTH be out treasure hunting for you! Have a great day ~ wish me lots of luck with the hair! (*_*)

I just wanted to share with you the sweet treat I received in the mail today. This is a faux cake from pinkrosepastries.com. Now this lady has talent! This lovely confection is made out of non edible materials ~ no calories! ~ and has so many cute details! The workmanship of this cake is really something else! I am going to display this on my glass cake plate. This even came packaged with the lovely pastel colored straw material you see here. Go and visit Catherine at her web site. I'm positive you will not be disappointed with her treats! I have purchased faux food before and none have even come close to this gorgeous thing!
Today is kind of gloomy out, but quite warm. It is supposed to be in the high 60's on Monday and Tuesday. Yes! That's for me! I am supposed to be cleaning up this house getting ready for my Mom's visit next weekend, but here I sit. I can't believe that it will be almost two weeks since I got sick and I still have my cold! Grrrr!! Enough already!! Wade is down at his Mom's today doing her income tax. He took the laptop and off he went. The biggest thing I have done already today is to clean the kitchen sink! Big deal! I had better get cracking and do something! I don't know what, but there is tons to do so I need to get started! Bye for now!

Today we spent the majority of the day up at LDS Hospital. My sister-in-law and best buddy ever went in today for "female" surgery. All went well and the nice thing about this hospital is that it is the third highest ranked medical facility in the nation and everyone gets a private room! Very nice! Each room had it's own flat screen tv which was cool. They have very good service at this hospital and incredible doctors and staff. I would recommend it to anyone needing a top notch medical facility. The treatment is excellent!
I have been sick for the past week with a horrible cold and sore throat so I haven't been listing much on the web site. I hope to get at that again soon! I did list two absolutely gorgeous vintage table lamps in Vintage Finds that are just beautiful in person! I also went through my STUFF and listed a whole whack of stamps, etc. from my craft room. I used to be into stamping and scrapbooking big time and was even a Demonstrator for Stampin' Up!, but I quit after a short while. Selling things door to door and at parties is just not my type of thing. I am not a "hard sell" person like that at all. So...if any of you are interested, check out my ebay auctions (stacysshabbyshoppe) and you will see all sorts of cool stamps and stuff listed this week.
I am also trying to get ready for my Mom's visit. She will be here next weekend ~ the 17th. I am looking forward to that! I have to clean up this house and get her room ready. I am also going next Wednesday to get the "spring highlights" in my hair. I usually do that in spring when I'm ready for a change and ready to go lighter. It takes forever because my hair is quite long, but I love it and I rarely go to the salon for colors, etc. so it is always a treat. Then it will be a nice eight hour drive up to Missoula next Saturday to get Mom. It will be good to see my brother again even if it's only for the night. Love those quick turnaround trips!
So, that is about it. I am going to be making some changes on the web site soon. I am trying to streamline it abit and I always like playing around doing web site stuff. Keep tuned in for more great vintage treasures coming really soon. Have a great weekend and enjoy the blossoms above!

William Wordsworth 1770 - 1850
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line,
Along the margin of a bay;
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee;
A poet could not but be gay
In such a jocund company!
I gazed - and gazed - but little thought
What wealth to me the show had brought.
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
**This is my favorite poem of all time
When Will It Be Spring?!
It is always nice to have something to look forward to and I'm happy to say that my Mom is coming for a visit in two weeks! My brother and sis-in-law will drive her down from Canada and we will meet half way in Missoula, Montana, spend the night there and then drive back with her to Salt Lake City. She is going to be here for about a month or so. I am looking so forward to it. I haven't seen her since the end of June when my Dad passed away. This time we are getting together for some relaxation and fun, not for hospital visits (hopefully!) and things like that! I have already started making a list of all of the hot spots that we are going to visit and where we are going to shop and just general things to do. There is alot to do here in Salt Lake and the surrounding area and we always do it up right when my relatives come to visit. We don't seem to see each other very much these days and sometimes it's hard living so far away from each other, but we do the best we can!
At the end of March it will be our eight year anniversary. I think it's 8?! I am terrible with the date of our anniversary. I have to actually think of the date, the 29th...maybe because it's kind of a strange date to get married on. It just seems weird! But then again, we got married in Vegas so that says something right there! Love Vegas! It's only about five or six hours of fast driving from Salt Lake. We need to go again!
We'll I'm off to fool around with some new graphics that I bought. I'm always looking for new and different ways to tweak the web site and I like playing around with graphics even though I'm not that good at it. Here's to a Happy March! I hope you are all doing well!
