I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

Today I'm announcing the winner of the two sweet
Mary Engelbreit garden flags from last week.  There
were only a handful of entries (much smaller than my
chandelier giveaway!) and the winner was picked by
that handy little random number generator.

The winner is...

Tammy from Beatrice Banks!

Congratulations Tammy!

Please get in touch with me so I can
send your goodies along to you!

Thanks to everyone for entering!

Have a wonderful week!

Royal Wedding Fever

As a Canadian and a member of the British Commonwealth,
these words are pretty much etched into my memory...

Elizabeth the Second,
by the Grace of God, by the United Kingdom,
Canada and Her other Realms and Territories,
Queen,
Head of the Commonwealth,
Defender of the Faith.

That's why I am so excited to be invited to
The Royal Wedding on
Friday, April 29, 2011!

(Okay, I'm not really invited, but Photoshop sure is fun isn't it!)

I can't tell you how happy I am for William and Kate
and there is just something about a Royal Wedding that
is just so exciting!  I am a Monarchist, I admit it, although
I find that some people here in the U.S. just don't get it,
but if you grew up around it, you do!  I know that many of you
are going to be watching the wedding though and you do
"get it" so to speak.  Who wouldn't want to watch these
two lovely people tie the knot!  I think that it's nice
to have some good news in the world for a change.

This would make such a lovely souvenir of the special day.

This is the new coach commissioned by Her Majesty and it should
be the coach that carries the Bride and Groom away from Westminster Abbey.

I will be up during the wee hours of Friday morning watching the
entire wedding.  There will be a special breakfast and perhaps even
some champagne to celebrate the royal nuptials.  So if any of my Utah
friends are up and about, give me a call or come on over to my house
and we'll watch it together.  I'll leave the porch light on!

What are your plans for next Friday?
Am I the only insane one out there?
Somehow I doubt it!

Romantic Prairie Style ~ Cowboy Up Girls!

To celebrate spring and the launch of Fifi's new book, Romantic Prairie Style, (of which I am yet to receive my copy!), I was inspired last night, at midnight mind you, to add a little bit of my own prairie style to my decor.  That's right girls...it's time to cowboy up!  One of my favorite fashion styles is prairie/western fashion that is romantic and funky all at the same time so my little dress form got a bit of a makeover in the wee hours...and here she is...

This is an outfit that I actually wear, but my friend can borrow it for awhile...

A pink t-shirt from the Junk Gypsies with their famous
"Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History" is one of my favorite tees...

Three different layers of vintage and new necklaces are a must for this look...

A pretty western style belt adorns the waist...

A fabric flower softens the look...

This lovely belt was picked up at a thrift store for only a few dollars...

This gorgeous multi-layered lace skirt can be found at
Victorian Trading Company...

It has beautiful detailing on the lace and it is fully lined and quite heavy...

A frothy white scarf was added to the side for extra romance...

I love the way this scarf looks wrapped around the waist...

A favorite pair of well worn old leather boots...

My version of Romantic Prairie Style...

I can't wait to receive my book!
