I know that the movie "Marie Antoinette" with Kirsten Dunst has been out for quite awhile, but I just received it from Netflix the other day and had a chance to view it. What a gorgeous movie! Now, I really didn't think that the storyline of this movie was particularly strong, but it was captivating enough. What really got to me were the incredible costumes, the lavish sets, the architecture of the Palace of Versailles, the gardens, etc. It really gave me a sense of what it must have been like to have lived in this lavish era, if you were a Royal of course! I can't say that the "common" people faired very well. You will recall the famous line of Marie Antoinette about the starving people of France when she said "let them eat cake". Pretty hard to eat cake when you don't even have bread!

I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like to work on a movie set such as this. What an experience that would be! I actually liked Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette. I am not a super huge fan of her, but I like her well enough and I thought that she portrayed the child-like Queen of France very well. I would really recommend this movie to all of you who love living a romantic life. I know you would enjoy seeing it ~ it truly is a "feast for the senses". Now if I could only get my hands on some of those fabulous French dresses and shoes!

Stacy, Thanks for the movie review. I wondered about it and mainly wanted to see it for the costuming, I will gladly do so next weekend. Have a delightfully charming week my dear!

I love your photographs you took of this movie. I haven't had a chance to see this yet but I've heard many wonderful things about it, and now from you.
It looks magically!
