Utah Festival Of Trees ~ Part 2!

Hello again!  Today is a continuation of my post on my visit to the Utah
Festival of Trees that took place about a week or so ago.  I hope you enjoy
my pictures and that they give you some inspiration this Christmas season!

The tree above was a smaller floor tree in vibrant PINK!  Wow!  It's even a
little bit too PINK for me!  I bet you can't believe I'm saying that!

This bouquet of paper pinwheel flowers caught my eye!  They looked so
pretty sitting in the large pink bucket beside the Christmas tree!

How about this adorable Frosty The Snowman tree?  I thought he was lovely!

I noticed that several of the trees this year had adorable little woodland
creatures tucked in the branches here and there.  I quite like them.  They
look so natural and sweet.

And of course this is the reason for the entire season now isn't it!

Candyland themed trees are quite popular and I just love them!

A closeup shot of some of the goodies adorning this beautiful tree...

This was a pretty purple and gold tree that had numerous beautiful angel
statues and figurines in front and on the lovely shelf behind.

Here is a lovely smaller floor tree with a Victorian style theme to it.

A parting shot of the beautiful old fur trimmed ice skates beneath the tree.
They remind me of the same skates in my friend, Jo-Anne Coletti's artwork.

Be sure to stop in again.  I have at least two more posts on the Utah
Festival of Trees.  Yes, I took alot of pictures, but everything was
just so lovely that I couldn't help myself!

Until next time,

A Tribute - Utah Festival Of Trees

Several days ago I was going to do a post on the 42nd annual Utah Festival
of Trees.  This event is an annual charity event where families, service groups
or just about anyone can enter a decorated tree and then all of the trees are sold
off and the proceeds are donated to Primary Children's Medical Center.  It is such
a worthy cause and many families choose to do tribute trees in honor of loved ones who have passed on.  I spoke to my friend Kaden about it last Friday after we had both been to the Festival on different nights.  Little did I know that this post would be my tribute to her as she was critically injured on Saturday morning in a violent rollover car accident.  She passed away on Monday morning...

Kaden, these trees are for you...

Pretty in pink...you loved girly girl things...

Another girly one for you...

I can just hear you commenting on this one...

You would have loved these trees for your little ones...

A snowbaby tree for your babies...you were an amazing Mother...

This entire tree is made out of crocheted pieces...you thought that it
was amazing that I taught myself how to crochet...

This would have been your favorite tree...all decked out in combs, hair brushes
and little bottles of hairspray for you were my stylist for the past 15 years and
you loved cutting hair.  I went without a haircut for almost five months once
because you were off on maternity leave...no one can cut my hair like you...

A pink cupcake tree because...you loved the good stuff...as in cupcakes!

Rest in peace my dear sweet friend...

Until we meet again.

The Last Roses Of Summer & Random Stuff

Well here they are...the last roses of summer.  I picked these a few
weeks ago and thought I'd post them now.  I have roses well into
October here in Utah, more like into November this year.  It was
an amazing year for my flowers!

Aren't these blooms just lovely...until next year...

Here is a picture of a gorgeous HUGE pitcher my Mom picked up at an
antique store while she was here.  I had it first, decided not to get
it and then she picked it up and asked me if she could get it!  She is
so funny and NICE!  She wanted to make sure that I absolutely did not
want it!  It must have had a matching bowl at some point, but for
$12.50 I told her that she had better take it before I changed my mind!

And for all of you statue and fountain lovers out there take a look at this
beauty!  Mom and I came across it during one of our furniture shopping
trips.  This fountain is in the big RC Willey furniture store in Salt Lake City.
I couldn't help taking a picture of it...those darn orange cones anyway!
Graced at the top with a beautiful cherub, it is followed by horses
and lions spouting water and then maidens at the bottom.  I can't tell
you how tall it is, but it's pretty huge!  I thought that you would like it!

Have a great day!

Goofing Off & Porch Decor!

So yes...I know!  My last post was on August 29th!  I have had people
sending me emails to find out what is going on with me!  So I must
confess...here is what has been going on...I've been GOOFING OFF!

Where did we leave off?  Let's see...in August I was talking about Victorian
Trading Company and how much I was looking forward to fall.  Well, fall is
in full swing now isn't it!  Siince my last post I took a lovely vacation to
Mount Rushmore to see the "BIG HEADS" and then I spent the rest of
September getting ready for my Mom to arrive.  She was coming for a
nice long six week visit!  Note I said "was"...she has come and gone!
We had the most AMAZING time together!  I sure LOVE my Mom!

I meant to post these pictures a long time ago, BUT things just got in the way
soooo....here are some pictures of what my porch looks like this fall...

I always decorate my concrete dog for the seasons...seeing as
how I don't have a REAL dog anymore...boo hoo!  :(

The brown and orange decor stays OUTSIDE, not inside...it's
just not my thing to have it inside the house...

A little autumn fairy is resting on my wreath...

along with her friend who is perched on my tulle...

these fairies seem to be everywhere...

I hope you are having a wonderful fall!

I Love Victorian Trading Company!

Yes, I know...it's been absolutely weeks since I have blogged!

I have really been enjoying my summer and blogging has definitely been put
on the back burner!  I didn't realize that it has been over three weeks since
my last blog post!  So neglectful!  (*_*)

So today I thought I would share with you a few pictures from one of my
favorite mail order companies...Victorian Trading Company!

I know that alot of you are probably familiar with this beautiful online
company, but for those of you who are not, here are a few pictures for
you to drool over!  They sell beautiful reproduction Victorian clothing and
accessories including dresses, coats, gowns, hats, gloves, shoes and
everything in between to adorn your cute little self with!

They have really adorable seasonal items too and as you can see their Fall
catalogue is decked out with Halloween and fall decor pieces!  So fun!

Here are some really cute teapots, prints and other fall related treasures!
Don't mind the dull, grainy photographs...the weather was definitely not
cooperating with my camera today...but you get the idea!

This page shows off some of their beautiful lighting pieces...fairy lights,
candles, potpourri burners, sconces and the like...how beautiful!  I am
really loving that sweet little fairy light on the bottom right hand corner!

Here are some of their fall items with a bit of a gothic, noir feel to them.
One of the things that I love about this company is that they cater to
every price range out there under the sun...some items are really super
affordable, there are middle of the road pieces and then there are really
extravagant treasures like Italian cameos and beautiful furniture!

This last picture shows some of the beautiful china and kitchen items that
they carry.  Check out those gorgeous rose paper plates on the right hand
side.  Aren't they just the prettiest paper plates you've ever seen?!

Victorian Trading Company also has about five or six different catalogues
that they put out..Hearth & Home, Romantic Clothing, Castle & Cottage,
Stationery...just to mention a few.  They will happily send you all of their
print catalogues if you sign up for them.  Here is their link below...

You can also shop online as well by going to their web site!

I hope you have enjoyed this little glimpse into one of my
favorite mail order companies...

Sweet $20 and under finds!

It seems like I don't have alot to blog about these days!  Those of you that
know me know that I loathe being indoors in the summer and I really do not
like being on my computer for hours on end!  Pretty soon summer will be over
and we'll all be huddled inside...then I will be on the computer for ages!

So...with not alot going on, I just thought I'd share with you a few things that
I listed on the web site today.  I don't like flogging my treasures on here all of
the time, but with not much else happening here are a few pictures of my new
listings.  The great thing is that everything is $20 and under and some of the
items are well under like this sweet vintage pink retro nut chopper for just $10.
Isn't it a sweetie!

This is a very sweet porcelain music box that plays the prettiest tune!

These little pedestal dishes are so timeless...

These little Lefton bells are adorable as well as this pretty
Aynsley white china posy bouquet.

This is the cutest vintage porcelain tape dispenser.

These lovely Cameo Creation prints are so pretty and they have
gorgeous ornate frames with roses and bows on the tops.

I hope you have a wonderful week!
