A Perfectly Pink Present From Paula

I know that Christmas is over and that we have all been

inundated with Christmas pictures for ages, but I 

could not help posting this absolutely adorable

Christmas present that I received from my good

friend Paula.  Paula consigns on my web site and

we've been great pals for years so she knows me

and knows how much I love PINK!

Can you believe that she kept her keen eye out the

entire year for things to put in my Christmas basket!

Yep, she's amazing!  This adorable angel was on the

top of the package...printed from Graphics Fairy.

Look at all of these wonderful pink goodies!

Everything is just so cute and so pink!

First of all, there is this adorable vintage celluloid

deer complete with its pink plaid bow.

Then there is this super pretty antique canister 

piece covered with roses on the front.

This is one of my favorite things...the graphic 

was printed from Graphics Fairy and then this

sweet vintage pink trim was added to the bottom

to form a multi-tiered pink skirt!  How cute!

This is such a cute item and one with a story.

Paula thought that these pink rose scented trash

bags were so cute and equally cool because they

have the identical side on the back written in

French.  I told her that I used to use these back

home in Canada all of the time and I was amazed

that she ran across these.  I turned it over to the

French side and found that they were made in

Burnaby, which is near Vancouver...the same

province (British Columbia) that I am from.

Of course they had both languages on them...

everything in Canada has both French and English

on it...every single product!  I'm sorry, but I do not

missing seeing French and English on everything!

These are adorable...cute little vintage clip-on

Christmas ornament earrings!  So different!

This fabulous vintage Shiny Brite ornament will fit

in nicely with my tree next year as I changed my

entire tree to include hot pink and silver!

Love these...a roll of pink Washi tape and a very

cool vintage pink measuring tape.  I will use it

in my purse when I'm out and about!

Paula made this pink bracelet for me.  It almost

looks like candy now that I'm looking at the picture!

She also made this sweet pink paper banner that

I will most likely use for Valentine's Day.

Lastly, there is this beautiful vintage pink Pyrex

bowl with its perfect pink and white stripes!

See...isn't Paula a lovely friend to think of all

of this for me?!  I should say so!

Christmas Pretties In Pink

Hello again ~ today I am sharing just a few pics of

my pink and cream decorations on top of my tv stand.

I took my large, heavy concrete urn from my coffee table

and used it as the centerpiece.  I love how all of these

pretty pastels work together effortlessly...

I have had this little metal sleigh for a few years...it's a

thrift store find.  I filled the inside with vintage hand

painted pink balls along with vintage white glittered

drum and bell ornaments.

On the other side of the urn is a large glass cloche

filled with Christmas ornaments...nothing fancy here,

but I love the way it looks!  The rose topiary trees on

each side are from Target.  I purchased them

several years ago and I still love them!

That's it!  It doesn't take a lot to make a festive

display.  I hope you enjoyed viewing mine!

My Christmas Tree!

Everyone else is doing it...so why not me?!  Today I am going to share my

Christmas tree with you all.  This year I decided to go with something quite

different than my usual tree.  I pulled out all of my very pale pastel vintage

ornaments and I just wasn't feeling it.  This year I'm in the mood to celebrate!

My husband had a very serious heart attack in September (what heart attack

isn't serious?!) and I am grateful that he is still here.  I wanted something

more cheerful, bright and happy!

I had a lot of hot pink balls in my collection that I had gathered the last few

years from thrift stores, as well as some larger, lighter pink glittered balls.

These two colors got me started.  I visited Hobby Lobby (two minutes from

my house which isn't necessarily a good thing!) and found that all of their

Christmas decor was on sale at 50% off.  I purchased silver snowflakes,

white glittered snowflakes, ornate glass ornaments with sprinkles on them

and the makings for the top of the tree.

I can't remember the last time I had a star on the top of my tree.  I decided to

go with a plain silver tinsel star along with those wild pink picks and some

other silver branch picks.  I love it!

Here are the silver snowflakes and you can see in the background some

other hot pink glittered snowflakes that came from Hobby Lobby as well.

A closeup view of everything put together.  There is also silver

beaded garland hung around the entire tree.

I absolutely LOVE these long glass ornaments.  I bought them in three

colors of pink and they have sprinkles on them.  They were in the

Candyland section of decorations in Hobby Lobby.  So pretty!

The light pink balls are actually bulb covers that just fit over any Christmas

tree light.  I have tons of them and I have packed these things all over the

place.  I think I've had them since my early 20's...so a little while!

My Christmas Chandelier

Today I thought that I would share my dining room chandelier.  I usually like

to decorate it for Christmas and in previous years I have had it loaded with

all sorts of Christmas ornaments, florals and baubles.  I wanted to go more

simple this year so I decided on two different types of ornaments.  I wanted

a little pop of color, but not too much!

I decided on these vintage pink ornaments for the very top.  I just love

the look of these...I am totally into silver this year and, of course, my

decor wouldn't be complete without the ubiquitous pink in it!

For the bottom I chose these gorgeous glass angel wing ornaments.  I

found these lovely treasures here in Salt Lake City at a warehouse decor 

store called Tai Pan Trading Company.  They are delicate glass and they

have pretty silver glitter accenting each wing.  I love the way they look

hanging around the bottom of the chandelier.

I managed to find eight of these at the end of the season last year and

they were almost giving them away.  I actually went back a second time

to find more, but they were all sold out!

Here is my little tablescape just below the chandelier.  I found this adorable 

pink crepe paper Christmas tree at my favorite decor boutique, Dear Lizzie.

I just love this tree!  It has silver glitter sparkled around each layer.  The rest

of the display is filled with silver candle holders on top of my large rose

resin mirror.  I love the way the mirror reflects everything!  It's so sparkly!

My Christmas Coffee Table

It has been over six months since my last post!  It has been

a good, but rough year for the Stewarts.  I'm surprised that I

have any followers left!  More of that whole story later!

I thought I would start my blogging again with a little bit

of inspiration for Christmas!  You can see that I am getting

all of my silver polished up for the holidays.  The picture

above was definitely the storm before the calm!

I even had to resort to putting some of my pieces on the floor

because my counters were so full of stuff!  Why do I always

get these brainstorms at midnight?

Here is what I started with...a large silver tray in the center

of the coffee table and three very large silver vases on

the sides.

Then my very LARGE vintage trophy cup was added to the tray

along with some frosted glass votive candle holders...

I was searching for the right color of Christmas balls to put in

the trophy cup, but I didn't have enough.  What to do?  I

remembered that I had purchased a few bags of hot pink 

and silver present bows at Hobby Lobby a few days before.

Why not?  I like the way they look and they match the bright

colors on my tree this year (more on that in another post)!

I think that it looks pretty and very festive!

I added some shiny ornaments (that didn't fit on the tree)

in a little crystal bowl to give the tray some color.

With a little bit of imagination, you can make your holiday

displays look festive and pretty without breaking the bank!

Final Post - Utah Festival Of Trees

If you've been following my blog lately you will have seen several posts on

the Utah Festival of Trees.  Here are the last few pictures for you to enjoy.

I had quite a few more pictures, but I am going to admit to you that I am

actually a little tired of seeing Christmas decor.  I think I over saturated

myself!  (*_*)  So here are the last few snippets of Christmas decor for

the 2012 season...enjoy!

Pretty tree with matching cozy decor...

I thought that this "Drama Queen" tree with the Justin Bieber

cardboard cutout in the front was kind of funny!

This was a really clever display depicting "Joy To The World"...with

snowmen fashioned out of world globes.  Isn't that a neat idea!

If you know anything about sports and Utah, you will recognize the

significance of this "Rivalry" display between BYU and The University of Utah!

The last display I want to leave you with is this adorable little Charlie Brown

Christmas tree and sled with Snoopy inside.  I have been hearing the theme

for the old Charlie Brown's Christmas tv special on the radio lately while I've

been in my car and I just love it.  I can just see Charlie Brown walking

through the snow with his little pathetic tree.  (*_*)

Christmas In Our Home

Today I thought I would share a few Christmas images from around our home.

This is our front room where our main tree is set up.  The tree has looked

like this for probably five years or so.  Even though I love it, I am getting

quite tired of it.  It just feels too poufy, fussy and pink for me these days.

I know, you can't believe what I'm saying right?  I am kind of known for

loving the color pink.  Too much of it is just starting to get irritating to me

for some reason!  I wonder what is up with that?  LOL!

Here is my coffee table decorated with a few Christmas pieces.  It feels like

too much STUFF...but I will admit that when I look at some of the other blogs

out there with all of the Christmas decor, I feel like my house is empty.  LOL!

Some ladies really do it up like crazy!  I love looking at it and I appreciate it,

but I just feel the need to simplify.  Maybe it's time to box up some of my

STUFF and just enjoy a more calm, uncluttered look.  The problem I have is

parting with my treasures.  Being in the antique business now for over 11

years, I have upgraded and upgraded and now have alot of pieces that I

just don't want to part with.  BUT...maybe they need a well deserved rest!

I love this little metal sleigh that I found at the thrift store several years ago.

I filled it with vintage looking ornaments and can you see the little gold

cherub perched in there...he's kind of overloaded and surrounded!

Here's a closeup shot...aren't they pretty!

I have been buying crowns off Etsy lately.  Okay, three vintage rhinestone

crowns, but it's a start!  I've always liked crowns and tiaras, like so many of

you do, but I find them to be quite expensive!  I started searching and found

three of them and paid well under $20 for each of them.  So that is my new

little obsession...searching for inexpensive little gems like these.  This one is

from a Beauty Pageant in Ohio from 1965 (so the seller said) and it even came

in this darling vintage pink jewelry box.  Pretty adorable if you ask me!

Here is my large coffee filter wreath that I made last winter.  It is pretty huge

and I used about 600 filters on it, but I wanted it to be really big and fluffy!

I trimmed it all too to give it a uniform look.  I absolutely love the way it

turned out.  I moved it to the inside of my front door for the holidays. 

Speaking of which, yes, I say "holidays" when it comes to, well, holidays and

when it comes to "vacation" as well.  We Canadians do that...it's taken from

the British language and we are Commonwealth folk so we use alot of the

same expressions as the UK.  I am now on a tangent...LOL!

These beautiful silver glittered glass ornaments came from Tai Pan Trading

Company here in Salt Lake City.  If you don't have one near you...well, I

feel sorry for you!  Seriously though...it's a super huge and just lovely home

decor warehouse type of store chocked full of gorgeous treasures!  I just

couldn't resist bringing two of these lovelies home with me.

Lastly, these beautiful tin angel wings came from Tai Pan Trading as well.  I

purchased two of them and have them hanging from my shadowbox in my

front room.  I love the way they look for Christmas, but I'll probably use them

somewhere in the house during the rest of the year too!
