Details - Part 2

I had so many pictures that I wanted to share with you that I thought I

would do a second post on some details in my home that I love...

Above is the detail on a sweet three tiered "box" cake that I purchased

on Etsy several years ago.  I think that this was my first Etsy purchase.

I love whimsy in my decor and this large glittered key shows just that...

It's All In The Details...

The Inspiring Artwork of Christie Repasy

Today I am so delighted to share with you my collection of pieces from

one of my absolute FAVORITE artists around, Christie Repasy.

Christie's work is truly unmatched and she has such an incredible gift of

painting such breathtaking florals and other vintage style artwork.  Here

are a few of my favorite pieces that I am lucky enough to own...

The picture above is in my office.  I have three of her beautiful pieces

right above my desk that I look at every day while I'm working.

Here is a closer view of my shelf that I edited a few years ago.  One of

Christie's pieces graces the top, a large silver rose bowl that I purchased

from Urban Barn in Canada sits on the second shelf and the bottom shelf

holds a few pieces of pink Fenton art glass and other treasures.

I love looking at these while I'm working.  I don't have any of Christie's

pieces in frames.  They do look amazing framed, but I just love the

absolute simplicity of the canvas and seeing the art in its purest form.

Look at this amazing wooden waste basket.  It's spectacular.  I actually

don't use it for a waste basket.  Sometimes I have large bunches of flowers

in it, others times it holds vintage wallpaper and sometimes it has nothing

at all in it.  It really doesn't need anything, it's a piece of art unto itself!

I love this shelf!  It sits on the wall in our bedroom.  The

details on this are just incredibly beautiful!

Just look at the flow and design of this piece.  Delicious!

These are two larger pieces that I have in my front sitting room.  I have

had them on my wall here, with the same mirror in the center, for about

eight or nine years!  I know what you're thinking...and I am not kidding!

I used to be one of those people who moved things around in her house

every five minutes, but I'm just not like that anymore.  I did attempt to

take them down once about three or four years ago and try something

different in this space and the change lasted, literally, for an afteroon!

I just hated what I had done so everything came down and these went

back up.  Why mess with success right?!

I love how well these pieces go with my Italian tole mirror in the center.

I also have a matching chandelier...I wonder where that went...hmmm...

The last piece that I'm showing you today is this absolutely adorable little

wooden shelf with a basket of roses in the center.  It's really hard for me

to pick a favorite piece, I love them all so much, but isn't this one sweet!

Hallway Bathroom - Georgianna Lane Photography

This post is a continuation of my last post on our hallway bathroom.  This time

around I am sharing the artwork that I have on the wall in the bathroom.

If you have never heard of Georgianna Lane...well, where have you been?  LOL!

I am absolutely hooked on her work.  She is a professional photographer and

takes the most amazing snapshots that you have ever seen.  Here is a link

GEORGIANNA LANE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

These pictures are not the greatest quality due to having no natural light

in the room so bear with me!  You'll get the idea I hope!

I have purchased several pictures from "G" over the years and bought six

of them awhile back to go in my bathroom.  I wanted a clean, pretty look

so I framed them in these simple clip frames with glass fronts.

This one is gorgeous - you can't go wrong with roses!

This is one of my favorites!  I love this statue and I was silly enough to recently

pass up a statue like this one in one of my favorite Etsy shops.  DUMB!

I love these two as well...sorry about the glare on these two!  The above one

is of a gorgeous pink chandelier and you may have noticed this one floating

around on Pinterest and all over the web.  It's such a beautiful photograph.

Now you know where you can get one for yourself!

Isn't that vintage typewriter photo delicious!  Love it!

This is a spectacular picture as well and if my memory serves me correctly, I

believe that it is taken at Monet's estate in France.  Luckily for us, one of

Georgianna's favorite places to photograph in the world is Paris!  Her

collection of Paris and French photographs is quite extensive!  She has a

second Etsy shop that is filled with Paris photographs plus other photographs

Our Hallway Bathroom

I've been MIA these past few weeks...over three to be exact!  I always say

 that I only blog when I am inspired...it must be cabin fever...I haven't felt like

 blogging or working at all.  It seems as though spring may be on the way soon

though.  A glimpse of a few teeny tulips tops peeking out of the ground outside

of my front window gave me the little burst of cheer that I so desperately

needed!  Hasn't this been a long, cold winter...I sure think so!

Today I am going to share some pictures of our hallway bathroom.  Now I must

warn you that these pictures are NOT the best quality.  There is absolutely no

natural light in this room and if I use the flash then it's really a total disaster

so bear me with me, they are kind of yellow and sad..but you'll get the idea!

This bathroom has been painted several times.  It was white when I first moved in, then I painted it a cottage yellow, then it had wallpaper border along the top...it has changed many times.  Guess what...it's now back to white and I absolutely LOVE it!  Sometimes my decor takes a roundabout and ends up back where I started in the first place!  Life is like that!

So now it looks all fresh and clean!  I am looking at this picture above and I'm

wondering why I never have towels hanging there.  I always have a hand towel,

but never towels on that towel bar...hmmmm.  Anyway, that cute rose print on

the wall is from Ikea.  It is heavy paper that is stretched over a wooden frame.

I quite like it and I think that it only cost seven or eight dollars.  A real bargain!

The layered white ruffled shower curtain is from Victorian Trading Company.

They always have the prettiest accessories for your home.

These three pieces were picked up from Tai Pan Trading Company.  They are

supposed to be perfume decanters and the center one is a little holder of some

sort.  I love the aged mercury glass look and the little crown and rhinestone

accents.  They were really inexpensive...about four dollars each!

I admit it, I am abit of a statue nut!  I just can't resist a pretty, vintage statue!

This one was picked up at an auction several years ago and I remember that it

was really inexpensive...probably around $25 or so.

See, I told you...another statue, and on the same countertop no less.  It's really

quite ridiculous!  I do love this one though!  The hand painted rose flower bucket

is going to be coming up for sale really soon so watch my shop for it.  It is really

adorable and was painted years ago by Kim Ryan of Paris Rags.  She is a great artist!

I also love this perfume bottle!  It is one of those very large department

store sample bottles.  I have it filled with colored water.

Here is a better shot of the maiden statue.  Isn't she lovely!

These antique soap advertisement cards are perfect for a bathroom.
