Hello Everyone ~ it's been awhile since I have blogged! Many of you know that I have been busy with my Mom who is visiting me from Canada. She arrived on March 18th and we were having such a good time that she extended her visit by two weeks. Now she only has until Saturday and we are feeling like her six week visit isn't long enough! It's a good thing we get along ~ it sure has been lovely to have been able to spend all of this wonderful time together.

You may have noticed that the web site has been a little bit slack lately! I guess that's what happens when you have company. We have been running around lot and have just been enjoying each other's company. Next week I will be back at it getting more listings on the web site. I have so many lovely things for you!

Last week I repainted our bedroom. The room was in an uproar for three days, but now it is back together and looking beautiful ~ in my opinion! I will take some pics next week and post them on the blog for you to see. We also bought a new gazebo for the summer and I will take some pics of that as well. It is a very heavy duty one that is bolted into the concrete on our patio ~ it gets quite windy here where we live! I decorated the inside of it today with floral garlands on the inside of the roof. It also has a chandelier! ~ I had an interesting one in the basement that was a little bit modern and I wasn't using it so Wade wired it up into the gazebo and it looks fabulous! It will be quite a treat this summer to have it!

I hope everyone is having a nice spring so far. Be sure to check in next week on the web site around the 1st of May when I will be listing lots of lovely new treasures for you!

One more thing ~ I am on a quest! Does anyone out there know where I can find a fabulous king sized bed skirt that has at least a 25" drop? My bed is huge and those skimpy skirts just don't cut it! I want it to puddle on the floor! Any suggestions would be really appreciated! I might have to break down and make one myself. (*_*) Email me or post a comment if you know of any that I might be interested in. Thank you ladies ~ so long for now!

Sweet New Cottage Treasures

Here are some of the newest treasures that have been added to our Cottage Treasures and Vintage Finds sections of our web site. We have some really lovely stuff on right now with more to come! Mom and I visited my favorite antique mall late last week and we found some very pretty treasures! Mom is busy ironing linens for me ~ thank you! (*_*) I hate that job! I have so much stuff to list right now, I just have to find time to do it all.

My Mom has extended her stay and is not going back to Canada now until the 28th of this month! Yeah! We felt that time was running out and we weren't doing all that we wanted to do (not that ironing was in her game plan!) so she decided to stay for two more weeks than planned. Works for me!

Saturday was my birthday and it was a great day ~ hot as blazes out! We took a drive up to Park City and braved the outlet mall. Big mistake! It was packed and we didn't stay long. Then it was over to Heber City for dinner at Chick's Diner, a little old diner that has apparently been around for 40+ years. The food is amazing. I love it! Then it was down Provo Canyon and then back home to Riverton. My Mom bought me a gorgeous Royal Doulton figurine for my birthday...the first one I've ever owned. So lovely! My hubby had ME order my birthday present ~ a yummy big pink crock pot from JC Penney. It will arrive this week. Can't wait! The first birthday too without my Dad...it felt funny...a year of firsts I guess, BUT it was a great birthday! (*_*)

All I can say is thank goodness for USPS carrier pickup! I would hate to have to drag all of this stuff to the post office when I ship. I can't believe I used to do that, go to the post office four or more times per week! What a bummer!

This nice stack kept me busy into the wee hours last night and then a few again this morning. I do love it when everyone pays so quickly and I can get it all done like this! It makes everything so much easier!

Boy, I sure didn't get much sleep again last night. I went to bed at almost 3:00 a.m. (yes, that's almost my usual time I hate to admit it), but then I didn't sleep until after four and then I got up at 9:15. I feel like I'm running a few hours short today. That is okay though, today I will be sitting in the salon chair for two or more hours so that will be very relaxing. Being pampered is always good, it just comes too few and far between for me!

It is another nice sunny day today and it will probably be in the high 60's again! I am loving spring! Saturday is driving day, all the way to Missoula Montana, to pick up Mom. I am looking forward to getting out of this city! I love Salt Lake, but sometimes the traffic and concrete just gets to me and I feel the need to get out...even if it's only for a couple of days and most of it is just driving. Seeing some countryside will do me a world of good! It will be nice to see my brother again too and my sis-in-law. That is the only thing I hate about living in the U.S. and them being back "home" in Canada. We don't get to see each other much anymore! Oh well, make the best of it! You all have a great day! Bye for now ~ Stacy

I was outside for a few minutes and thought I would snap some pictures of my garden statues. Things in the garden are just getting started around here. The tulips and daffodils are about 6" high and I still have to clean out all of my beds from the winter ~ they need to be raked out and cleaned up! We went to an auction last summer and loaded up on garden statuary which I am nuts about! These are a few from the front yard and I have several more around the back yard.

This cement wicker basket was one of the things I purchased. It has two sweet little cherubs perched on either side. This basket is actually quite huge ~ about three feet or more across and about two and a half feet high. It is very heavy and hard to pick up! I fill it with petunia's and other annuals and it looks gorgeous!

Here are two more ~ a cherub peeking out from the iris' and another bust type of head that looks like it's covered in moss. The last one is actually a newer piece. I love statues ~ they add so much to your garden decor! I can't wait for the plants and especially the roses to start doing their thing!

Tomorrow is hair day! Yeah! I am going to the salon to get my "spring highlights". I get highlights about twice a year and springtime is my favorite time to get spruced up and updated for the new season. Going lighter always makes me feel better ~ feels like I'm leaving drab old winter behind!

I should be listing some things on the web site tomorrow. This week is kind of busy getting ready for Mom's visit so web site listings have been abit sporadic! Once she is here things will get back on track and we will BOTH be out treasure hunting for you! Have a great day ~ wish me lots of luck with the hair! (*_*)

I just wanted to share with you the sweet treat I received in the mail today. This is a faux cake from pinkrosepastries.com. Now this lady has talent! This lovely confection is made out of non edible materials ~ no calories! ~ and has so many cute details! The workmanship of this cake is really something else! I am going to display this on my glass cake plate. This even came packaged with the lovely pastel colored straw material you see here. Go and visit Catherine at her web site. I'm positive you will not be disappointed with her treats! I have purchased faux food before and none have even come close to this gorgeous thing!
The other day I was looking on the internet for anime screensavers for my computer and I came across this image. Have you ever seen yourself as a cartoon character? Well, I looked at this image and thought "geez, that really looks like me except in cartoon form". How hilarious is that! So of course I kept it for my computer. I didn't realize what a huge sub culture Japanese anime is! Wow, is there ever alot to it. It's interesting when you start reading about things you really know nothing about and you start thinking about people that live and do such different things than you do. Take my stepson for instance, he is totally into this Norweigan Metal music and music called "Death Metal". I mean, really, what the heck is that all about? Some of the stuff he listens to...I swear! I guess people could say the same for me growing up in the 70's and 80's. I thought that ACDC was cool! According to kids these days...I guess not! Does that mean I'm getting old? Probably! LOL!, but I refuse to give in to that way of thinking! It will be my birthday on April 7th. No, I will NOT tell you how old I am! (*_*)

Today is kind of gloomy out, but quite warm. It is supposed to be in the high 60's on Monday and Tuesday. Yes! That's for me! I am supposed to be cleaning up this house getting ready for my Mom's visit next weekend, but here I sit. I can't believe that it will be almost two weeks since I got sick and I still have my cold! Grrrr!! Enough already!! Wade is down at his Mom's today doing her income tax. He took the laptop and off he went. The biggest thing I have done already today is to clean the kitchen sink! Big deal! I had better get cracking and do something! I don't know what, but there is tons to do so I need to get started! Bye for now!
